We teach children how to be careful when they are in traffic, when they ride a bike, when they are playing, but rarely when,or never, we teach them how to socialize, take a care, pet and enjoy with honest friends – dogs! As picture book is first child’s book that introduces him into the world of literature, and helps him understand the world around them, this illustrated fairy tale intended for children of lower grades of elementary school will contain less text, but also rich illustrations, and is essentially dealing with issues that will bring children closer to acceptable way to understand dogs, though they “speak” their dog language, and understand the smile that is often more sincere than humans. To teach them why we call them pets!

“Short sentences with simple words will bring to the children great joy and make them to think, detailed and rich illustrations will help them to understand the meaning of the unequivocal “words” and beautifulle ad them through the story. Particular attention will be devoted to the “speech” illustration – the photos that children will have for time of reading and watching, especially pay attention and attract attention, and be a good base to understand why are dogs called pets – they are truly loyal and devoted friends! I want to achieve that the texts “touch” them, feel them and think about them, and form a positive and correct attitude toward dog “- says main and responsible editor (author) Zoran M. Kos, and continues: “Children should be able to recognize the dog’s body language to avoid some incidents and, on the other hand, to us we also point out how to behave responsibly if they are at the same time pet owners. This kind of education is an important factor in increasing the humanization of animal relations, but also a successful mechanism to increase the degree of responsible ownership. If we TEACH children how to behave in the presence of a dog, there wont be many potential problems, and there will be no need to “teach” them when someone “on the side” says it! “
Asim Midžić, president of Kennel club of Brčko DC BiH, publisher: “There is in our market a large number of picture books that handle many topics, unfortunately, about the relationship between the child and the dog none. We at KC Brčko through interactive workshops, by principle lecturer – student – lecturer, we explain to school youth what are the advantages of human and dog coexistence, and what are the basic ways of responsible owner’s behavior as animals would not get into the street and so become a serious burden on the local community. We work in elementary schools, of which 15 in the Brcko District. At our workshops we talk to children from the first to fifth grade, or about 2,500 students. With education in elementary schools, we maintain workshops and children in kindergartens. Printing Illustrated fairy tales about friendship: My friend dog is just a continuation of our activities in that direction or with the same goal. “
